A lot has happened in the last couple of days in the iPhone rumor mill. Today morning we reported about the iPhone case leak from Case Mate. 9To5Mac is reporting that there will be two new iPhones this year rather than the usual low end model from the previous generation. iPhone 4S(or whatever Apple calls it) will be a speed bumped iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5 will be whole new design.

The iPhone 5 itself is a sight to behold, we’ve been told.  It is impossibly light, yet much firmer than Samsung Galaxy phones which are backed in plastic.  The camera rivals point and shoot cameras and will be a major marketing point for this device.

Earlier reports also indicate that iPhone 4 is seeing massive production with almost 10 million units targeted for the launch day. So if thats true, iPhone 5 will see a delay in its debut to the market. Apple has never readied so much low end models for the launch day. And if we go by 9To5Mac’s report, then we won’t seen an iPhone 5 until 2012. Bummer !!!

With iPhone 5 announcements a few weeks away, the rumor mill and leaks are at its full swing. According to Case Mate website iPhone 5 accessories’  page, the new case design suggests that iPhone 5 will have tapered edges and will probably be thinner. However, this page was taken down within a few minutes after it went live. Another case leak from a chinese manufacturer earlier suggested that iPhone 5 will sport a larger display and thinner design.

We hate rumors and leaks as much as you do. And we don’t want to get your hopes up a lot. But then Case Mate’s leak seems to be more legit and we can count on it. It also makes more sense as earlier we heard the rumors about the Silent button on the iPhone being moved to the opposite side. These case seems to have a cut out portion on the right towards the bottom.

What do you think of this ? Were you expecting a complete design change ? Are you looking for a bigger home screen like the high end Androids today ?

There’s been plenty of rumors about the iPhone 5 design. One thing is for sure that Apple may reconsider the design due to the Antenna gate issue it had to face with the iPhone 4. According to Macotakara, Apple will be adopting the Aluminum casing instead of the existing glass backing. The translation of the claims in the site goes like this:

“Decision to design similar to iPod touch instead of using glass is supposed that Apple seems to stop problems which are told widely damages from scratching, difficulties of painting white and weight of glass.

The aluminum casing will help in more signal reception and we hope to see 4G antenna in the next iPhone. Now this design will make it look a lot like the iPad 2 which is even thinner than the existing iPhone. So we hope, iPhone 5 will be even thinner and will definitely sport the A5 processor as seen on the iPad 2. Facetime HD ? Naa…
