Nokia N96 today received a firmware update to version v30.101. Users can update their phones to the new version through Nokia Software Updater software or through the OTA(Over The Air) feature. The phone features UDP(User Data Prevention) which will safe guard your data. Howver, its always good to create a back up.

After long pause in the handset making business motorola is back on track with moto droid which sports a 3.7″ display, 843 pixels display, 5 megapixel camera etc. The phone will debut in the market on november 6th in the verizon network for $199 with a two year contract. The phone will run the latest android 2.0 os and is the first to device to get it. Google also announced free voice guided navigation for all the phones running android os 2. This will include 3d maps, recently updated maps and more. Google also announced their willingness to have these features in iphone if apple agrees. Apple has silently released a firmware update for the iPhone, 3G and 3GS. The updated firmware, version 3.1.2, is available now on iTunes 9.0 for download and includes bug fixes, rather than the usual security updates and feature additions. The small change log for updated firmware includes the following fixes:
* Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep
* Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart
* Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming
The update will fix some issues with cellular network problems that consumers have reported in the past, but some further issues with AT&T’s network may still persist. An updated firmware for the iPod touch is also available from iTunes.
Yesterday Nokia N97 received a firmware update with a few changes. The current version of n97 is v11 and has been upgraded to v12. You can read the change log below.

- Fix for browser cache consuming more than specified in C drive
- Battery indictor showing wrong status (2-3bars) when charging completes
- Firmware over the air (FOTA) setting correction

- Fix to resolve GPRS access point selection even if WLAN access point is available
- Fix to not to ask user to do new profile while there is already one available
- Fix to display messaging application correctly when theme effect is set to ON
- Fix for Ovi store client may not properly installed if user has a client already installed earlier version

- Ovi store application is now updated
